LECTURE: The Annunciation in Italian Renaissance Art

The Annunciation was a frequent subject in Italian renaissance art. A sixteenth century painting in the Gyllenberg Collection shows the Angel Gabriel appearing to Virgin Mary to announce to her that she will give birth to Christ. How has this famous subject been depicted in renaissance art? This lecture discusses symbols related to Virgin Mary, as well as stories of her life.

The lecture is held by MA Lotta Nylund, the Chief Curator at Villa Gyllenberg.

The lecture is in Finnish, the duration is ca. 45-60 min. Included in the entrance fee (12/10 €, Museum Card).
