Concert: Tapiola Sinfonietta II: Indigenous Peoples
The theme of the 2026 “Chamber Music at Villa Gyllenberg” concert series is “The Marginalised.” The series consists of three different subthemes and concerts.
Wednesday, 10 June: The Politically Marginalised
Thursday, 11 June: Indigenous Peoples
Friday, 12 June: Subcultures
Where does music come from? From inspiration, of course, but also from a need. A need to be heard, seen, and understood. The “Marginalised” concert series gives a voice to those whose voices have too often gone unheard. The works highlight stories that have been left in the shadows of history, but also today’s reality, where discrimination takes on new forms. The program will be finalized during the spring.
Thursday’s concert highlights indigenous peoples who are still fighting for their rights. This program reflects the pain endured by generations under the yoke of colonialism.
Dawn Avery: Ohnekha’shòna Yakònkwe
Raven Chacon: Journey of the Horizontal People
Jerod Tate: Pisachi
